Ridgerunner makes no representations or warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, currency, fitness for a particular purpose, or absence of errors in any Scout Data. Map data, property boundaries, public land designations, terrain overlays, and all other geographic or informational content may be incomplete, outdated, inaccurate, or otherwise unreliable.
Property boundary data is provided for general reference only and does not constitute a legal survey. Do not rely on Scout property boundary data to determine land ownership, access rights, legal boundaries, or trespass limitations. Always verify land status with official government records and on-the-ground markers before entering any property.
A significant portion of Scout Data — including but not limited to public waypoints, field log entries, activity reports, campsite pins, trailhead markers, and tagged member content — is submitted by Scout users (“User-Submitted Data”).
User-Submitted Data may be inaccurate, outdated, misleading, unsafe, or entirely fabricated. Ridgerunner expressly disclaims all responsibility for the accuracy, reliability, safety, or legality of any User-Submitted Data. You use User-Submitted Data entirely at your own risk.
YOUR SAFETY IS SOLELY YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. Hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, boating, and all other outdoor activities involve inherent risks including severe weather, wildlife encounters, rough terrain, flooding, falling, drowning, hypothermia, disorientation, navigation failure, equipment failure, and death.
By using Scout, you expressly acknowledge and agree that: (a) You are solely and exclusively responsible for your own safety and the safety of any persons in your care. (b) Scout is a supplemental reference tool only and must not be used as a primary means of navigation or safety planning. (c) You will always carry appropriate backup navigation equipment. (d) You will always inform a trusted person of your planned route before any outdoor activity. (e) You accept full responsibility for all decisions made in reliance on Scout or any Scout Data.
Always use good judgment, stay continuously aware of your surroundings, and do not rely solely on Scout for navigation. GPS signals may be unavailable, inaccurate, or delayed. App functionality may be interrupted by loss of cell service, device failure, or software errors.
Weather data, activity ratings, and condition forecasts are sourced from third-party providers and are estimates only. Weather conditions can change rapidly and without warning. Do not make go/no-go safety decisions based solely on Scout weather data.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, RIDGERUNNER OUTDOORS, INC., RIDGERUNNER.COM, SCOUT, AND THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, LICENSORS, AND SUPPLIERS (“RIDGERUNNER PARTIES”) SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR ANY OTHER HARM SUSTAINED BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF SCOUT OR ANY SCOUT DATA.
THE RIDGERUNNER PARTIES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS, DAMAGE, INJURY, OR CLAIM ARISING FROM: (A) INACCURATE OR OUTDATED SCOUT DATA; (B) USER-SUBMITTED DATA INCLUDING PUBLIC WAYPOINTS; (C) FAILURE OF GPS OR NAVIGATION FEATURES; (D) RELIANCE ON PROPERTY BOUNDARY OR TERRAIN DATA; OR (E) ANY DECISIONS MADE IN RELIANCE ON SCOUT DATA.
THE RIDGERUNNER PARTIES’ TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU SHALL NOT EXCEED FIFTY UNITED STATES DOLLARS ($50.00).
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Ridgerunner Parties from any claims arising out of: (a) your use of Scout; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) any User-Submitted Data you submit; (d) any outdoor activity undertaken in connection with Scout; or (e) your violation of any applicable law.
You must be 18 or older to use Scout. You are responsible for maintaining account confidentiality and for all activity under your account. Ridgerunner may suspend or terminate accounts at any time. Paid subscriptions are processed through Stripe and are non-refundable except as required by law.
By submitting waypoints, field logs, photos, or other content, you grant Ridgerunner a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that content to operate and improve Scout. When marking a waypoint as public, you represent that you have the right to disclose the location and that doing so does not violate any law or third-party right. Ridgerunner does not verify public waypoints and bears no responsibility for reliance on them.
Scout Points have no cash value and are not transferable. Ridgerunner may modify or terminate the Scout Points program at any time. Redemption options at Ridgerunner.com are subject to availability and may change without notice.
Scout and all Ridgerunner-created content are the exclusive property of Ridgerunner Outdoors, Inc. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license for personal non-commercial use only.
Scout integrates Mapbox, Tomorrow.io, Recreation.gov, and other third-party services provided as-is. Ridgerunner is not responsible for third-party data accuracy or availability.
SCOUT IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. THE RIDGERUNNER PARTIES DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND ACCURACY. YOUR USE OF SCOUT IS ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Ridgerunner may modify, suspend, or discontinue Scout at any time. These Terms may be updated at any time — continued use constitutes acceptance of any revisions.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware. Disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration under AAA rules in Louisville, Kentucky. Both parties waive jury trial and class action rights.
